The anatomy of a good prompt

A "prompt" is just what you type. A good one usually has four parts:
- Role — who the AI should be. "You are a friendly customer-service rep for a Belizean hotel."
- Task — what you want. "Write a reply to this guest asking about airport pickup."
- Context — the details. "We offer pickup for $25, 7am–9pm, booked a day ahead."
- Format — how you want it. "Keep it under 80 words, warm, in English and Spanish."
Before and after
❌ "Write a reply to a guest." ✅ "You are a friendly hotel rep. Write a reply (under 80 words, EN + ES) to a guest asking about airport pickup. We charge $25, 7am–9pm, book a day ahead."
The second prompt gives the AI everything it needs — so the output is usable immediately.
Key takeaway: Role + Task + Context + Format. The more of these you give, the better the result.
